Liturgical Committee

The Liturgical Committee at Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral plays a vital role in fostering the spiritual life of the parish by preparing liturgical celebrations that allow parishioners to participate fully in prayer with reverence. Working closely with the Dean and clergy, and following the Maronite liturgical calendar, the committee ensures that Divine Liturgies, feast days, and sacred seasons are celebrated with meaning and devotion.

The committee’s responsibilities include preparing readings from the Lectionary, selecting and coordinating readers, writing prayers of the faithful, and arranging Maronite hymns and prayers. They oversee clergy vestments, altar server robes, altar linens, icons, and other visual elements to ensure a prayerful and fitting worship environment. The committee also oversees processions and other para-liturgical services, such as the Rite of the Lamp and evening prayers.

By carefully preparing the sacred space, coordinating choirs, and organising ushers and lectors for major celebrations, the committee enables the faithful to participate consciously and actively in the liturgical life of the Church. Their work ensures that each service reflects the reverence, beauty, and sacred traditions of the Maronite Rite, creating an atmosphere where parishioners can encounter Christ in prayer, sacraments, and the rich heritage of our faith.
