Inspired by the Holy Family of Nazareth, the Family Committee at Our Lady of Lebanon Co-Cathedral is dedicated to strengthening family and marital spirituality while nurturing the spiritual, social, and community life of families. Guided by faith, fellowship, and service, the Committee seeks to build a parish community where families feel connected, supported, spiritually nourished, and united in Christ-like love.
Through initiatives that promote prayer, formation, fellowship, and active participation in parish life, it encourages families to grow in faith, deepen their relationship with one another, and foster a strong sense of belonging within the parish and the wider community.
Throughout the year, the Family Committee organises a variety of spiritual, social, and community-building activities that strengthen family life and foster a sense of belonging within the parish. These include:
- family brunches following the 9:30 am Sunday Mass;
- parish picnics;
- family Fun Day during Assumption Feast Week;
- the Father’s Day Bacon and Eggs Brunch;
- the Mother–Daughter Brunch;
- weekly online Family Rosary sessions;
- annual married couples’ retreats and family spiritual days; and
- the long-running Men's and Women's Faith Formation programs.
The Committee also coordinates the annual Renewal of Marriage Vows Ceremony, celebrating and supporting couples at different stages of their marriage journey.
Through its ongoing programs, events, and pastoral initiatives, the Family Committee continues to support families in growing closer to Christ while fostering a vibrant, united, and welcoming parish community. In doing so, it seeks to embody St Paul’s exhortation to “be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind” (Philippians 2:2).
