Ladies of Our Lady: A Ministry of Faith, Fellowship, and Hope

The Ladies of Our Lady Committee is a ministry dedicated to faith, fellowship and hope. Working closely with the clergy, the committee actively serves the parish community and participates in nearly all parish events, providing a space for women to grow spiritually, emotionally and communally.

In 2025, during the Jubilee Year of Hope, the ministry was officially established to further support women in the parish. The official launch took place on Saturday, 8 March 2025, coinciding with International Women's Day, with a special Mass celebrated by His Excellency Bishop Antoine Charbel Tarabay, followed by a morning tea celebrating the theme, "Women of Hope." This event affirmed the role of women as bearers of love and light within their families, parish and community.

Throughout the year, the committee organised several key events:

  • In May 2025, a Mother's Day lunch was held at Bayti Parramatta, and in May 2026, a Mother's Day lunch was held at Sahara by the River, Parramatta, with more than 120 women attending each luncheon.
  • In August 2025, the committee catered the morning tea for Our Lady of Lebanon Feast Week.
  • In March 2026, a fundraising dinner was held at Olivetto Ristorante to celebrate International Women's Day in support of the Australian Gynaecology Cancer Foundation, with more than 130 women attending.
  • Lenten Reflection evenings led by Sister Irene Boughosn, providing spiritual teaching, prayer and meaningful conversation.

The Ladies of Our Lady quickly became a vibrant and integral part of parish life, fostering fellowship, prayer and mutual support. Our presence reflects the grace and strength women bring to the Church.
