Be Apostles of the TRUTH
Dear Parishioners,
I am aware that anonymous text messages circulated this week on Facebook and SMS among the youth and spread then to parents and elders in our Community about police intelligence of homes being visited by certain individuals. It then ended up being spread that these messages were originally sent by my-self, Mons Shora. The contents of the message and myself being the source is NOT THE TRUTH.
The TRUTH is as follows:
- The clergy and myself with the media committee of OLOL share information with you through the Altar Notices, official Church media (Facebook or Parish Newsletter) and not by anonymous texts or posts.
- According to Police there is NO evidence of people knocking on doors.
- Police circulate information we need to know clearly through their Media Channels.
- In Australia we have ONE LAW FOR PEOPLE of all communities to feel and be safe. If you have safety concerns then call the Police and not spread false news.
- In our Church we have the Commandment of Jesus to Love as He loved us and to live by the Truth. When we press SEND to anonymous messages we send missiles of lies, fear, and hatred that cause hurt to innocent people.
- All SMS and social media can end up in the MEDIA and we will be left to correct the wrong information circulated.
- The Power of the Cross is our power and protection and we should live by our faith in this divine power and not by fear and hatred.

Be APOSTLES of the TRUTH and LOVE. Therefore always STOP and THINK BEFORE YOU PRESS SEND to anonymous texts and posts. There are timely lessons to be learnt from this Sunday's Sacred Scripture readings. I encourage all to attend Sunday Mass weekly. Rather than listening to rumours and gossip, come and listen to the Word of God. Mass times are on our website.
